Last year, God began prompting me for missions, not just abroad, but in the United States. God led me to Beautiful Feet International, Global Outreach (BFI-Go!), a missions organization that has a huge heart to bring the love of God to the USA through creative outreach and works projects. I have been accepted on the Route 66 team, and am now asked to raise prayer partners and financial support. BFI-Go!’s leadership has expressed the importance of building support, so that I can focus on sharing God’s love and the Gospel effectively.
What will we be doing? The Route 66 Missions Road Trip will take us cross-country reaching out to US citizens and international tourists. We will preach the Gospel en route, on college campuses, tourist spots; we will also practically preach (love without words) through relief work in Oklahoma City. Some of our outreach will look like love in action, helping with homeless ministry, and potentially foster care homes and/or orphanage support. Our team outreaches will include preaching, dramas, tracts, prayer booths, spoken word, music outreaches, and events. We will partner with local churches in an effort to ensure that the souls reached have follow-up, care and prayer. As our team travels together, we will also listen to the Bible on audio from Genesis through Revelation (all 66 books); thus, this will truly be a Route 66 Road Trip from Chicago to Santa Monica. Also, our team will spend the next six months meeting regularly for trainings, prayer, and outreach in San Diego and Mexico to build our team connection. This is a very different kind of summer mission trip, as it has already begun.
What do I expect to gain? First, I will be (and already have been) learning more about God's plan for reaching His people with the message of salvation. Second, I will learn what it is like to live an extraordinary life of missions and ministry daily. I also hope that you will share in my victories and all the amazing stories I will gather over the next seven months and beyond in this amazing journey.
How can you get involved? What can you expect to gain? First, please pray for me. I feel this is the most important part of what God will be doing. God can change things by His will as you and I pray together. If you would like to join this trip, it is not too late, please contact me and I’ll tell you how you can join the outreach team. You can also help by giving financially to the BFI-Go! in my name. I am responsible for raising $2,400, through gifts from friends, family and churches before I go. This total includes my airfare to Chicago and transportation, housing, and our team’s outreach supplies, building materials, and training materials.
